Proceeds from the latest release from V’GHN will aid in the rebuild of Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique following the devastation caused by Hurricane Beryl
Tuesday, July 9, 2024 – Today, Grenadian singer/songwriter/producer, V’GHN releases his new song, “Heart of Carnival” with proceeds to be donated to those affected by the destruction caused by Hurricane Beryl on the Tri-island state.
When Beryl, a Category 4 Hurricane, made landfall in Grenada on July 1, it caused damage to the north of the island but ravaged the smaller sister islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique where more than 90 percent of the homes were left without roofs and shaken foundations.
V’GHN, who was born in the Parish of St. Marks, and was once a victim of a hurricane himself, quickly decided to use his talent to help his island.
“I’m doing this because I am a product of the people, I am for and by the people especially of my home, Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique,” the charismatic singer said. “Music has always been my outlet and my safe haven, and I just want to use my talent through the music I create to help my people through a difficult time. I lost a home from a hurricane, so I know what it’s like to go thru a time like this. I’m hoping I can do two major things; make people smile through the music I create and put out, and to lend a helping hand to those in need.”
V’GHN is a Soca and R&B singer and electrifying performer known for his collaborations with other Caribbean stars and for the hits “Trouble in The Morning,” “Trinidad Sweet,” “Finally,” among others.
The singer was on a concert tour in Houston, Texas around the time the Hurricane made landfall in Grenada.
Upon his return he intends to help with the cleanup of his beloved island.
“Heart of Carnival” is available now on all streaming platforms.
