Shanon Muir is an accomplished executive with over 15 years of experience as a leader and advisor to senior executives in the entertainment industry. With an impressive background in business and legal affairs, she has played a vital role in the production and distribution of content such as television shows, digital content, and video games around the world.
Currently, Shanon is the Senior Vice President at Warner Bros Discovery, where she oversees legal and business affairs for Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios, and business affairs at Hanna Barbera Studios-Europe. Her responsibilities include structuring and negotiating talent, development, and distribution deals, as well as managing production legal matters. Shanon’s leadership has been instrumental in driving success for these prestigious studios.
Before joining Warner Bros, Shanon held key positions at Disney Television Animation and Warner Bros Domestic Television. As Director, Business Affairs and Legal Counsel at Disney Television Animation, she negotiated talent deals in connection with various animated series in production. Shanon’s work as Counsel at Warner Bros Domestic Television Distribution was focused on successfully negotiating distribution agreements for premium TV content.
Beyond her entertainment industry experience, Shanon has demonstrated leadership skills outside the industry. As the Active Streets LA Initiative Coordinator for the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, she managed a four-year, $375k grant initiative related to the implementation of pedestrian and bicycling infrastructure on the 2010 LA Bicycle Plan. Shanon successfully coordinated initiative partners to execute initiative activities, resulting in two highly successful events that attracted over 200+ community members and drew recognition from 54th district Assembly Member Holly Mitchell.
Shanon’s ability to negotiate talent, development, and distribution deals coupled with her expertise in production legal matters has led to the success of multiple productions at prestigious studios. Her dedication to community service has demonstrated her leadership skills outside the entertainment industry. Shanon’s impressive career highlights her leadership, legal, and business acumen, making her a valuable asset in any industry.
She received her law degree from Tulane University Law School and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She is currently pursuing a Master’s of Business Administration at the Ross School of Business – University of Michigan.
Shanon was born in Brooklyn, New York. Her parents, Carol Muir and Stanie Muir are from Kingston, Jamaica.
