In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Mattel has announced two new one-of-a-kind dolls in their Role Model collection: The Cuban Queen of Salsa, the late Celia Cruz, and Dominican-American activist and author Julia Alvarez.
Risha Rox is an interdisciplinary artist working in installation, sculpture, body art and storytelling – a practice which she refers to as Corporealism. After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley in 2003 with a major in African Diaspora Studies, she began to develop her artistic practice in the rich black loam of Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, NY.

Born in Barbados, Alexander James travels the world as DJ Puffy’s photographer and videographer. This has afforded him one of his greatest achievements to date; the opportunity to travel to the US, Europe & Asia and capture the world via his camera.

In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica,
CHO has partnered with Los Angeles-based
Original Coley’s Jamaican Restaurant to mobilize local support and deliver
much needed supplies to the hard-hit communities in
St. Elizabeth, Westmoreland and Manchester parishes.

The relief effort welcomes contributions of nonperishable canned foods, hygiene products, baby supplies, clothing, blankets, toys,
and other essential items. These donations will be sent directly to Jamaica to provide critical assistance to families and communities.
